Summary

With her family and life spiraling out of control, Pam Corrigan needs an escape from the stress of her day job and decides to purchase the old inn just south of Strawberry Sands。

Her mother will give her half of her inheritance when she remarries, but Pam isn’t the slightest bit interested in another failed relationship。 So she asks her best friend and neighbor, Mark Shields, to fake a relationship with her in the hopes that she can convince her mother to help fund the repairs of the inn she just purchased。

Mark wants to help his friend, but a fake relationship is a bit much, until his sister insists that he needs to “host” her best friend for the summer。 Suddenly a fake relationship is looking much better than spending another minute with the woman who killed all of his plants and took his dog to the pound。

But as Mark and Pam juggle their respective families and their issues, they just might discover an attraction they hadn’t anticipated。 Will their friendship survive the chaos?

This is a lighthearted story about best friends deciding to get married to solve each of their problems。。。 Pam, to get an inheritance and Mark to avoid a fix-up with his sister's best friend。I enjoy the way Jessie Gussman writes biblical beliefs into every day conversation and makes it easily understandable。 I also liked that Pam and Mark are older。 I recommend this clean, inspirational Christian romance with a joyful happy-ever-after。 I was given an ARC of this story from the author but this re This is a lighthearted story about best friends deciding to get married to solve each of their problems。。。 Pam, to get an inheritance and Mark to avoid a fix-up with his sister's best friend。I enjoy the way Jessie Gussman writes biblical beliefs into every day conversation and makes it easily understandable。 I also liked that Pam and Mark are older。 I recommend this clean, inspirational Christian romance with a joyful happy-ever-after。 I was given an ARC of this story from the author but this review is my honest opinion given voluntarily。 。。。more

Pam and Mark had been good friends and close neighbours for many years。 When Pam can't access her inheritance (which she needs for renovating the old inn she bought) and Mark is about to be landed with his sister's best friend for a long visit (pretty much his worst nightmare) they decide on a marriage of convenience。 Needless to say it isn't as straight forward as it seemed, emotions get involved and add in some surprise visits from family and you have a great read。 Pam and Mark had been good friends and close neighbours for many years。 When Pam can't access her inheritance (which she needs for renovating the old inn she bought) and Mark is about to be landed with his sister's best friend for a long visit (pretty much his worst nightmare) they decide on a marriage of convenience。 Needless to say it isn't as straight forward as it seemed, emotions get involved and add in some surprise visits from family and you have a great read。 。。。more

Pam and Mark’s story makes me smile and ponder the author’s wisdom and insight。 I liked that the two main characters are in their fifties and not the much younger characters that are normally featured in romance books。 They have both been married and divorced, and are not looking for love or anything else other than friendship。 For over a decade they have lived next door to each other and have become the best of friends。 They know each other very well, have confided in each other and have become Pam and Mark’s story makes me smile and ponder the author’s wisdom and insight。 I liked that the two main characters are in their fifties and not the much younger characters that are normally featured in romance books。 They have both been married and divorced, and are not looking for love or anything else other than friendship。 For over a decade they have lived next door to each other and have become the best of friends。 They know each other very well, have confided in each other and have become part of each other’s lives in many ways, but have never gone beyond the boundaries of friendship。 A sudden decision made by Pam turns out to be life changing for them both。Pam decides to quit her teaching job where her faith and convictions are frowned upon and dismissed。 She takes another big step and buys an old vacant inn that is in disrepair, using up almost all of her savings。 While her decision is a surprise to Mark, he nevertheless backs her up and encourages her on the new path。 Convincing her mother to finally release her trust fund is top of her mind, but her mother’s stipulation that she must be married is not something she wants to contemplate。 Mark can sympathize with her reasons for not marrying again。 He is trying to keep his sister and her best friend at bay, not wanting anything to do with his sister’s matchmaking attempt。 Discussing their problems leads Pam and Mark to make a startling decision。 A marriage of convenience could be a good solution to their situations。 She could meet the marriage stipulation her mother has put on releasing her inheritance, therefore making renovations on the inn possible。 His marriage would put an end to his sister’s matchmaking。I liked how Pam and Mark really considered whether a marriage of convenience would adversely impact their friendship。 Neither wanted to lose the connection and sense of wellbeing that they had found between them。 They even made other plans to come up with the necessary funds for renovations on the inn。 In other words, they didn’t step lightly into marriage。 The asked for God’s guidance and the advice of others before going forward with their plan。 To find that marriage and a relationship deeper than friendship was part of God’s plan for them is a blessing to them both。 I received a copy of this truly insightful and inspiring book, and I am voluntarily leaving this review。 。。。more

This was a beautiful story in the Strawberry Sands Beach Romance series。  I liked how the Bible was woven into the christian story and how it made me really think about the verses。  Pam and Mark were neighbors in a duplex that Mark owned and they had become best friends over the ten years that Pam had lived there。  They were in their 50's and had both been married and divorced。  Suddenly they decided to get married and have a marriage of convenience that could benefit both of them。  Seemed like This was a beautiful story in the Strawberry Sands Beach Romance series。  I liked how the Bible was woven into the christian story and how it made me really think about the verses。  Pam and Mark were neighbors in a duplex that Mark owned and they had become best friends over the ten years that Pam had lived there。  They were in their 50's and had both been married and divorced。  Suddenly they decided to get married and have a marriage of convenience that could benefit both of them。  Seemed like the Lord had different plans for them while he was helping them learn about patience。  I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review。 。。。more
